Sports and fitness have always been a big part of my life. I started gymnastics when I was 4 years old and started competing when I was 8. Over the course of many years of hard work and dedication I was able to compete as a level 9 gymnast at the age of 15. Competing at a high level taught me the importance of discipline, toughness, determination, consistency, and team work. Aside from gymnastics, I grew up doing other sports, including snowboarding which I still do today.
After getting married and starting a family I realized something was missing and that I wasn’t nearly as active as I once was. At that time I had started working out in a friends garage. We lifted weights and run on a treadmill. I quickly remembered why I had lost my interest in fitness due to the mundane routine found at most gyms. I got bored with the same thing everyday and was not seeing the results I was wanting. A friend kept asking me to try CrossFit. But CrossFit was something I was too intimidated to ever try. I believed I was not in good enough shape for it. After several months I mustered up the courage to go. I was terrified to say the least, but I did it! After my first WOD I wondered why on earth it had taken me so long to try it. I LOVED it! It brought back the passion of fitness and hard work that were instill during my competitive gymnastic years. I was instantly hooked and still am to this day. Each day is something new and challenging.
CrossFit has helped me gain the confidence back that I lost and provided a structured healthy lifestyle. It has given me my motivation and energy which I felt I had been lacking for so many years. As a busy mom of 3 active girls I needed to be able to keep up with them. CrossFit has also given me the opportunity do that, as well as grow as an athlete at an age I didn’t think would be possible. Crossfit truly is for anyone and any age! I really can’t say enough about the positive impact Crossfit has had in my life.
After 3 years of CrossFit and the success I have had I received my CF L1 training certificate and completed a 3 month coaching internship. Now as a coach I get the opportunity to share my love for the sport and my passion for health and fitness with others. My goal is to help others reach their fitness goals that they set out for themselves and help them succeed far more then they ever thought possible. I want to give to others what CrossFit has given to me. Through hard work, dedication and consistency we can make it happen!
